Video It's Killing Your Squeeze Page Conversion Rates

Video Squeeze Page

One of the not so new email marketing strategy everyone is talking about is video squeeze pages... Almost every guru and average marketer around is telling you that if you want to get the most out of your lead capture landing pages you need to add the magic power of video, and soon you will see your conversions go sky high.

What a false statement!

The truth is that a well design, simple, focus, and with great copy lead capture page have nothing to gain from adding video to it. In fact, after many different tests and research me a few other well recommended online marketers notice that a good list building landing page that have a solid conversion rate of 60% to 70% can go down to only 15% to 20% conversion rate very fast... That means that you can brake your opt-in rate cycle by putting this type of media on your site.

THE PROBLEM.

In lead generation your
squeeze pages are your tool to sell an opt-in or subscription to your course or newsletter. Now, this selling process it should happen right away after a person visits your landing page. If, your headline, sub-headline, giveaway (if any), and sales copy (your list of benefits for your audience) don't do the job, a video will just make the whole experience even worst.

Some of the elements a squeeze page needs to be successful:

 1. Needs to be fast loading, and adding a video will make it slow.

 2. Needs to have a compelling and benefit focus headline.

 3. Needs to have a list of bullets pointing to all the benefits to the reader.

 4. Must show the opt-in form above the fold, which mean your visitors don't need to scroll down to see it. This can be hard with some video formats.

 5. Also need to show those benefits right away to your visitor before they click away from your page.

Yes, if you add heavy media to your site where benefits should be shown fast, your bounce rate will increase. Bounce rate is when people visit your site and click away from it right away. If you bounce rate is high, you are loosing many good leads, don't you think?

Now there are occasions when a this type of media will work wonderfully on a opt-in site, like I explain in my last post "Video Squeeze Pages: When And How To Apply Them". Also the only themes I found to meet the design required to great responses can be found at this templates designer, they offer over 80 different templates.  Also, if you want themes design and optimized to promote affiliate products check this killer templates.

Here is a quick list building course and free report to help you avoid some of the mistakes many newbies make when trying to capture prospects for their business. Remember building a list is just the first step in email marketing success, that's why you have to make sure to set it up right from the beginner.
